Mon 4/4: Pink Floyd's David Gilmour plays tonight at the United Center. Tue 4/5: The Reader's Ben Joravsky and Sun-Times's Mick Dumke hostFirst Tuesdays with Mick and Ben at the Hideout (1354 W. Wabansia), a monthly roundtable discussion of all things politics. Tonight's show features CPS teachers Allison Bates and Erika Wozniak talking about the Chicago Teachers Union walkout. 6 PM

Tue 4/5: Vegetarians beware: Baconfest Chicago kicks off what it's calling "bacon month" at Bacon Bocce Beats Booze, a meat-centric event with creative bacon dishes from Chop Shop, Knife & Tine, and Whisk; beer and cocktails from Templeton Rye and Goose Island Brewery; and an indoor bocce-ball tournament hosted by Wicker Park Bocce. 7 PM
Wed 4/6: Celebrate National Poetry Month at City Lit Books with the release of Action Books's Cheer Up, Femme Fatale and Co•im•press's I Am a Face Sympathizing With Your Grief: Seven Younger Iranian Poets. 6:30 PM
Wed 4/6: Comedic variety show Afro-Futurism continues at Second City's E.T.C. Theater (1608 N. Wells). Tony Adler writes, "Felonious Munk's sly banter, Sonia Denis's dizzy (but not ditsy) persona, Martin Morrow's tales of being too clean-cut for his own good, and the alarming confessions marking Dave Helem as perhaps the worst high school teacher in the history of education . . . was truthful and lots of fun." 8 PM

Thu 4/7: The latest installment of the Poetry Off the Shelf series at the Poetry Foundation features poet and artist Tan Lin, who will be joined by experimental-music group NbN. 7 PM
4/7-4/10: Chilean theater company Tetrocinema presents Régis Jauffret's graphic novel Historia de Amor (Love Story) onstage at the MCA, with comic-book-style artwork, film, and live performance. In Spanish with English subtitles. Thu-Sat 7:30 PM and Sun 3 PM
